Long ago in a childhood far, far away...

I discovered the magic and power in books that transported me to a different place and time. In this particular case, it was my beloved Fraggle Rock. No longer was I limited to watching the Fraggles on television. I could have them any time I wanted! It was a life-changing discovery. 

My love affair with books and reading has continued and only grown more passionate throughout my life. I'm a bookish fangirl. Authors are my rock stars. I decided not to keep my love of reading and fangirl favorites to myself any longer and The Nerdy Bookcase was born. 

I'm a 30-something woman with a "real job" who spends as much of her free time as possible reading and discovering new things to fangirl over. My Significant Other is Mr. Darcy. Calm down, I'm not delusional - Mr. Darcy is my dachshund and sidekick in my life adventures. He's not especially supportive of my school activities, since my attention is on work for my Master of Arts in Religion and not on him; however, we're both enjoying my summer break right now.
